P.C. CALVARY ARTS CENTER
P.O. 204
New Lexington, OH 43764
The Perry County Cultural Arts Center (PCCAC) is seeking donations to purchase the above building located at 434 S. Main St. (former Calvary United Methodist Church) in New Lexington. We are currently leasing the property and have a DEADLINE of August 31st to purchase this remarkable facility. We launched our fundraising campaign in February requesting donations from businesses, organizations, and prominent citizens. We have currently raised half the amount, but still need $20,000.
We received a grant from the Perry County Community Foundation plus donations from Linda Wilson, Brenda Wright and the PC Community Club which allowed us to offer 40 scholarships to area youth to our summer arts workshops. We are also an alternate for CBGD grant money from the PC Commissioners.
PCCAC is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization making your donation tax deductible. Our goal is to provide cultural arts opportunities to youth and adults in Perry County. The CAC has ample space upstairs for theatrical productions, plus classrooms for workshops, a large banquet room, and full kitchen downstairs. Not only is it completely handicap accessible but it also has a large parking lot. We are most proud of the upstairs wall mural painted by the late Leslie Cope. This is a perfect space for an arts center which will provide cultural arts activities for years to come.
Besides the five week long workshops for kids pre-K through eighth grade this summer, a senior citizen fall musical, a festival, and another Christmas spectacular are planned. Non-profit organizations are welcome to utilize the building at no cost and others may rent the facility for fundraisers or parties.
A plague will be created with donors giving $1000.00 or more. Donations may be made in honor or memory of a love one; perhaps you have a family member who attended this church.
Perry County currently has no public arts center/theater. Please consider making this a reality by sending your tax deductible donation to PCCAC and mail it to the above address.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
